The Rolling Stones Reportedly Final Album, Foreign Tongues Announced

60 years in to their career, The Rolling Stones are back with reportedly their last album,  Foreign Tongues. Recorded over a month it bounces around genres and is reminiscent of the classic Exile On Main St. Launching with the single In The Stars, the album also features Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith from The Cure and Chad Smith from RHCP. 

When was Foreign Tongues announced?

Announced on Tuesday 5th May 2026 at a star studded event in New York City, the 3 members were there with a star-studded crowd of friends, journalists and fellow artists. Hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien he joked that the band will “finally make it after decades of obscurity”.

When was the last Rolling Stones album?

Foreign Times is the Stones 25th album, in a career that has spanned 7 decades. The album Hackney Diamonds, was their last album releasing in 2023 and was praised as an energetic, return to form.

Is Foreign Tongues the final Rolling Stones album?

Although there has been no official confirmation, some rumours and news outlets are reporting that this is to be their final album. After over 60 years playing together I think it's safe to say it wouldn't exactly be a shock if it was their last, however with the 2 tracks that are out sounding as good as they do, and the 3 members of the band both looking well and happy, it does seem like they do intend to keep going on!

When is Foreign Tongues out?

The single In The Stars has released digitally now, with a physical version being released on the 15th May 2026. The album is to follow with a release date of 10th July 2026, right now you can check out the single In The Stars and Rough And Twisted, which will both feature on the album.

What formats is Foreign Tongues coming out on?

There's a few versions spanning vinyl and CD. On vinyl we've got the Indies Exclusive 2x Green Vinyl LP verison, as well as the standard 2x Black Vinyl LP. There is also a boxset that features 2x Yellow Vinyl LP, a blu-ray, slipmat, 12" art print and poster. On CD there is a standard CD and another with the blu-ray version.

Will their be a Foreign Tongues Rolling Stones tour?

No official confirmation of this has been made, with the album announcement event being limited to only talking about the album. They last toured in 2024 for the album Hackney Diamonds, which was a 20 date tour in the US. Reportedly a 2026 tour of the UK and Europe wad cancelled, with a band insider saying Keith Richards couldn't commit to a 4 month tour, reported by The Sun. Although they did also say that they would be back, we're all hoping they do tour the album!
